We recently had the pleasure of taking part in a self-defense class taught by Lori Holmes, and it was an outstanding experience. The session was tailored for someone supported by Community Living, and the instructor did a phenomenal job making the lesson accessible, engaging, and empowering.
She was patient, clear in her instruction, and demonstrated strong leadership throughout the session. Her confident and professional approach helped build trust and ensured the techniques were learned effectively.
Our participant shared, “I feel stronger and more confident now. She showed me what to do and made me feel like I could protect myself.”
We are so grateful for the care and expertise she brought to the session, and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a high-quality, inclusive self-defense class.
Thank you.

Hero Project How Do I Define A Hero? A hero is someone who makes sacrifices in their life to help others in times that they need it. Heros are people who can make a difference in their life to make a difference in other lives, as the person is trying to help, they can make connections with the person and listen really well to hep their understanding of the person they are trying to help. Heroes make sure to feel the person's thoughts instead of trying to make assumptions to these people that they might not know. Who Is My Hero? My Hero is a family friend, her name is Lori. She is a sweet but tough woman who makes sure to help society in many ways. When taking on challenges like talking to people who need help, she is confident when it is needed. The main reason she is my hero is because she taught me many valuable lessons in my life, my favorite one is, "You become who you hang out with." I always keep this with me when I follow around new people. If they are not good people then I can be aware of that and not be around them anymore because I don't want to be like them or do the things they do. I am very glad that she influences me in the best ways possible for my life. She builds me up to help me be a better person each day and helps with my many life challenges. How To Be More Heroic In your daily life it is better to be able to help people throughout the day. To do this you can be more understanding of people that are having a rough time with life, people that need help don't usually let people know so if you think someone feels upset just ask them. A simple question like " Are You Okay? " can really help, and change their day. To be a hero isn't about having all the credit to yourself but rather helping others selflessly and using your own time to change someone's life.
